Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick spent Wednesday night wrestling with whether to plead guilty when he enters a downtown courtroom this morning, a move that would cost him his job -- and send him to jail -- but would finally end a scandal that has swamped the city and state for nearly eight months.
He doesn't have much more time to decide. When Gov. Granholm's removal hearing concludes and a decision is reached, he's lost any bargaining chip that he has for a lighter sentence. And watching the hearing, I can only conclude that she will order removal.
He should have to pay every penny back for the State's time in court as well
He has to pay one million anyway...
