ABC was so excited that its 6:30 PM feed of World News went live at about 6:40 PM to Grand Rapids, Michigan for 90 seconds of Obama introducing Edwards, compete with a Bruce Spingsteen song as Edwards bounded on stage. Gibson then acknowledged:
Timed for maximum exposure, timed to coincide with the evening newscasts, timed to give Barack Obama a needed boost after his bad defeat yesterday in West Virginia. George Stephanopoulos, this is the kind of publicity that you can't buy.
Indeed, no need to pay for it when ABC News is eager to give it to you for free.
Two wrong guys, but what can you do? Obama's media advisors knew the media would lap this up.
In the contested state of Michigan no less, where Hillary needs all of the disputed delegates she can find.
I was chuckling at his timing. Obama knows how to run a campaign. He knows how to use the news cycle, he understands the importance of timing.
And the fact that he understands how to use these things and he still runs a clean campaign and doesn't take money from PAQs and Lobbyists makes him different from other politicians.
I was so happy to see him bigfoot her circus of deception, and obviously the crowd felt the same. The cheers sounded as if it were a college football game. The Democrats seem to be finally making a comeback. Like they are getting their Mojo back. If the Dems plan to win, it is time to see more of that. Time to start getting the voters motivated behind the nominee.
The press inflated the beauty contest in W Virginia. But they fail to report the low turnout, which is a sign that many of the voters there feel that the nominee has already been chosen.
